At times it can feel like the World is winning. When we are intimidated by fear, self-doubt, intimidated by people or circumstances we need to remember this verse.
We must remember that when things come against us, they come against the One in us, and He has already won the victory!
“You are from God and have overcome them,”
— if you are Born of God then you are more than conquerors through Jesus.”
To remind us that at Calvary, every demonic spirit was demolished, the keys of death, hell and the grave were taken back by the victor!
When Jesus said it is finished, it was FINISHED!
This is what overcoming is for the Believer, When you overcome the enemy means you have overcome his systems, we reign over them.
Those circumstance — Jesus is bigger
That problem — He is bigger
That relationship issue — he is bigger!
John is telling us not to be frightened by the wickedness of this world or the hostility we see all around us nor to be overwhelmed by the problems we face.
Evil can seem much stronger than we are. But God has ultimately triumphed.
We must understand this is more than simply surviving hard times. This is more than living through trials and making it out on the other side.
We are over comers because Christ overcame.
If we look at it from the view of merely surviving then were saying Christ merely survived while he was here. Far from it. Christ overcoming the World means in every aspect He conquered the enemy and all his systems and gained RULE over the enemy. He did not rely on anything this World offered but lived from the Father.
