Is there a promise that God has for you but yet you haven’t seen it come to pass?
Though at times it may seem that God is silent to our prayers but I can assure you that He hears it. It may be a lost loved one that you are earnestly seeking the Lord for their salvation. It may be a healing that you are waiting to receive. Whatever it may be the Bible tells us that the “fervent prayer of a righteous man availateh much. ” – James 5:16
Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.”
In Acts chapter 12 we read that Peter is thrown into prison and later that night he was planned to be executed by King Herod. As soon as the church heard that he was in prison they started praying. Then an angel of the Lord appeared standing beside Peter who is chained up, the angel said “Arise, quickly” and Peter was freed. He didn’t know if he was dreaming or seeing a vision but he walked to the house where Mary lived and inside that house was where the church was praying for Peter. Peter knocked on the door and a woman from inside the house asked who it was, “It’s me, Peter” not believing of what she is hearing she turns around and tells the people inside that it is Peter.
The very thing that you are praying for is going to knock on your door, whatever the prayer, don’t give up. It’s going to be knocking very soon.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4
Today is a day you reflect not on what you have but who you have. Your family, your friends and most of all our God who chose to sacrifice His only Son so we could live a free, prosperous and joyous life in Him. Are you giving thanks to the Savior?
What is holding you back from going forward? Is it fear? Is it your current job? What is it that is keeping you away from moving closer to Him? All of us has a mandate from God but it’s up to us to carry it out.
In 1 Kings 19 we read that Elijah had cast his mantle upon Elisha as he passed by him.
Elisha had two choices whenever that happened he could have:
1. Ignored Elijah
2. obeyed and followed
” So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast his cloak upon him. 20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”21 And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.”
“To step forward in your destiny,
You have to step away from your security”
What will you have to sacrifice in order to move ahead?
