How many times have you read the paper seeing the ads for houses to rent that says “NO PETS ALLOWED”
or the hotels that have big signs saying “NO PETS ALLOWED” I wonder why? Mostly because pets leave behind odors and possibly tear the place up. But some people are so attached to their pet that they won’t have it any other way.
Also, God doesn’t allow “pets” in His temple. Why ? “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,” -1 Corinthians 6:19
Allow me to go a little deeper in this Word. Before we came to Christ these were apart of our lifestyle things that we done habitual. But since Jesus stepped in and made you His own, He changes our hearts desire and the “pet” must go. ALL sin is grievous to God, at the moment it might not be a big deal, or He doesn’t mind.
Allow me to tell you from my own personal experience. I had a “pet” along my side when I chose to follow Christ. It was little then, it didn’t bother me, didn’t think much of it, my excuse was i’m a guy, every guy does it. True, if your not a believer. This was going on for years. It started getting out of hand, my “pet” was growing into this big “pet” it used to be so little but after the years of feeding it, it started consuming my life. Until one point God had enough.
I had broke the heart of God so many times over my “pet” sin that I thought, why would God want me back? After all I’ve done, how is it possible? I was scared, very scared. That gave me a new outlook on life. It shows the love that God has for us and His gracious mercy and grace that is un-measurable.
If you have a “pet” in your life. God will help you take it out of His temple. Trust in Him like you never have, after all, all you need is Him.
