Who Are You?

“The Testimony of John the Baptist And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” He said, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.” (John 1:19-23 ESV)

John, a man that was nearly unstoppable to get closer to Jesus. A man that let nothing get in his way to declare and announce Jesus as Lord of Lords. Humbled in every way that made his soul cry out, “Make straight the way of the Lord”

What is your life story crying out?

We learn that John was sent from God to bear witness about the Light (John1:6-8) His purpose in life was to announce the coming of the Messiah. What is one of our purposes in life? When the Jewish rulers had asked John who he was John denied himself and pointed to the Messiah. Are we pointing to ourselves more or to Him? Are we making ourselves bigger or Jesus? Our job, our passion, our desire in life is to magnify Him through all things in all things and every circumstance should His name be lifted high and not ours or our actions depicting that we ourselves has made it this far within our own power.

John was a carrier of His Word, His Presence, Truth and Light. What are you carrying?
