IF Jesus is anything, He must be everything.

“Faith in Jesus is more than a match for worldly trials, temptations, unbelief, and overcomes them all. The same absorbing principle shines in the faithful service of God; with an enthusiastic love for Jesus, difficulties are surmounted, sacrifices become pleasure, sufferings are honors.” – Charles Spurgeon

“There are Two”

Life is a journey that offers two roads. It is “either/or” rather than “both/and.” There are two perceptions of reality: the supernatural and the natural. There are two conflicting kingdoms: the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. There are two entry points: the wide gate leading to destruction and the narrow gate leading to life.

While the World leads more to the “both/and,” scripture tells us that we must choose one. “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” – Matt. 6:24

We say the words He is our everything but is He?

Having Godly Character

HAVING godly character
Let’s face it, we are all human, we are all flesh and with that being said we all have and will make mistakes in our life. Even the Bible clearly says that we are not perfect. “For we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory” . With that being said that doesn’t give us a license to sin. My point today is how to achieve and maintain Godly character, the person who we really are even behind closed doors when no one is looking. Are we fake, or genuine?
Meanings of Character

1. The way someone thinks, feels and behaves.

2. One of the attributes or features that make up and distinguish an individual.

3. A set of qualities that make a place or thing different from other places or things.

The moment we said yes to Jesus, all of our past was erased, washed away by His blood! We are saved, sanctified, redeemed in the blood of Jesus! We are set apart from this World, Don’t act like it live it!

1. Achieving Godly Character

Character cannot be bought, produced by man or having good moral qualities. It is fabricated from the heart of God.

“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.” – Charles Spurgeon

Are you best known by being a Godly person who shows the compassion and love of Christ no matter what circumstance you’re in? Or is it just on Sunday’s? Charles says it best when he puts ” A good character is the best tombstone.” Meaning that Godly character is solid, it’s a foundation in which a person builds on. “Carve your name on hearts…” I believe as Christians as we continue our walk with God, Godly character will be worked into our personality, and before you know it, you will do something that shows the love of God without even knowing it, without wanting your own praise or acknowledgment!

2. Maintaining Godly Character

Our actions do speak louder than words. And that’s why it is important to maintain Godly character, but how?

As I ask my junior high-class, who is your focus, who are you pursuing? The same question I ask to you.

Ephesians 2:10 ” For we are his workmanship, created in Jesus Christ for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

If we have our focus on Jesus, and to do His will we can and will maintain Godly character.

1 Kings 9:4 God instructs Solomon to walk with “integrity of heart and uprightness” as his father did. David says in 1 Chronicles 29:17, “I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity.”

Is God pleased with your character?

“For He is Good”

Nothing can satisfy the entire man but the Lord’s love, and the Lord’s own self. To embrace our Lord Jesus, to dwell in His love, and be fully assured of union with Him this is all in all. Dear reader, you need not try other forms of life in order to see whether they are better than the Christian’s: if you roam the world around, you will see no sights like a sight of the Saviour’s face; if you could have all the comforts of life, if you lost your Saviour, you would be wretched; but if you win Christ, you would find it a paradise; should you live in obscurity, or die with famine, you will yet be satisfied with favor, and full of the goodness of the Lord. – Charles Spurgeon

God’s love for humanity cannot be understood in the mind of those who has already accepted Him only by looking at the Cross. Henry Ward Beecher describes it best. ” Love in the soul is like perfume in the garments. Heat cannot melt it nor cold freeze it, nor the winds blow it away going forth or coming home, it scatters itself but is not wasted; it is forever going but never gone. And the love of God shed abroad in the soul surpasses all fragrance, in inexhaustible diffusiveness.

Are you infatuated with His love?

2 Chronicles 5:13,14
13 and it was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the LORD), and when the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the LORD, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever,” the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.”

I find myself in question for those who don’t allow for God to embellish them in His presence. Is it because of a trial that has overtook your life so that we place your our trumpet on the ground? It’s only when we raise our voice to the Heaven’s when we find the room filled with His glory.

You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit. – Job 10:12

“Blessed are the pure in heart”

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”. – Matthew 5:8

I must see that my ways please the Lord. Even then I shall have enemies; and, perhaps, all the more certainly because I endeavored to do that which is right. But what a promise this is! The Lord will make the wrath of men to praise Him, and abate it so that it shall not distress me. When I meet death, who is called the last enemy, I pray that I may be at peace. Only let my great care be to please the Lord in all things.
Charles Spurgeon

What a great privilege to know when we breathe our last breath here on earth that the next breath we will enter into is Heavens rest. The contamination of the sin that some harbor in their hearts is only leading them away from the presence of God rather than closeness and intimacy that you could not even imagine by being free from these pollutions.

What a pure heart person can see:

– The heart-pure person can see God in nature
– The heart pure person can see God in scripture
– The heart pure person can see God in his church family
– The heart pure person can see something of God’s true character.

What is in your heart?
