BOUNDARY LINES

Boundary lines separate countries, cities and every small town in this nation and the World. It keeps those who belong bound to that area. Boundaries keep things out that are harmful and ultimately protect us. Having filters in our life on the things you watch, do, and say doesn’t mean you’re weak, it doesn’t mean that you don’t like having fun – they’re meant to protect you.

The devil is wanting to destroy you and convince you that you are made perfect by the flesh.

I’ve seen too many people say:

“I’d never do __________ ” then eventually inch their way into the things they spoke against.

Boundaries aren’t popular, culture says “do whatever makes you happy” but boundaries are what keeps us through this age.

We see boundary lines in the Bible:

Adam & Eve

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.””

Genesis 3:1-5 ESV

The tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil was not to be eaten from or even touched. It was a boundary line that God said NO to.

On the other side of the line:

The enemy will make you doubt the Word of God

The enemy with deceive you by convincing you to satisfy the flesh.

The enemy will make whatever you are being led to desirable, promising fulfillment.

FACTS:

You will never be fulfilled by the flesh

You will never be perfect by stretching the line of boundary to fit a lukewarm lifestyle.

Sin will never satisfy until it takes your life, but then it will be too late.

Where is God in All of This?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

In these trying times, it seems that darkness is overtaking light. We can look at our economy, the violence that we may hear of terrible things happening, or even the fear of getting sick. At times it seems that darkness is taking over and so we ask, where is God in all of this?

As God heard the cries of deliverance from His people in Egypt who had been in bondage for over 400 years; God responded. He found a man named Moses to free His people. A man who claims to have stuttered and not speak eloquently found a side kick to go with him, Aaron.

EXODUS 10:21-23

After many attempts to free His people, God told Moses to “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness to be felt.” — this ninth plague would make Pharaoh’s heart even harder.

(A darkness that had a supernatural element in which it could be felt.)

“So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was pitch darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the people of Israel had light where they lived.”

In all of the darkness that was there for three days, God supplied the needs of His people, He provided His light so that they would not be in darkness.

In this season that we are in, we may feel fear, discouragement, anxiety, the darkness that at times feels like its sucking the very life out of you. But remember this, that every time you ask “God, where are You in all of this?”

Remember, He is right where you are. He is still being a provider, supplying all of your needs according to His riches in Glory. He is the light, a light that darkness cannot, will not overcome.

Jesus said that He has overcome the World. He has overcome the fear, the depression, the anxiety, any darkness. Come to the light which is Jesus and find the freedom that you need!

COMPLETE SOLITUDE

Genesis 32:23,24

23 He took them and sent them across the stream, and everything else that he had. 24 And Jacob was left alone. And a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day.

Jacob was left alone and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. It seems as if the man waited until Jacob was alone, until he was separated from folk who knew him, until he was secluded from things that might have been his source of comfort or strength, until he was at his most vulnerable.

The man waited until Jacob was alone and then came to wrestle with him. The moments before the big moment that come to change our entire form happens; a breaking and shifting of ages, a transition. The ground begins to shake.

This is what happens when we are in complete solitude with the father. Our culture trains us for motion and multitasking – not for slowing and simplifying. We know solitude means confrontation. You see, solitude removes distractions and leaves us, for a few minutes, alone with God. He might ask us to stop doing something or start something we don’t want to. But if we avoid his confrontation, we’ll miss His companionship, counsel, comfort, restoration and so much more. Let’s take some time alone with God.

And God Said…

In the beginning
“the earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
Once, the Earth was without form and void. Spiritual speaking we were without form and void, for some we still are. We try to figure out His ways, but yet we are still puzzled. We go before Him, but yet He has already been their. We hide, we run, but He knows where we are and where we are running too.
Genesis 1:3 ” And God said “Let there be light,” and there was light.
But with a simple Word, He spoke light onto the Earth and it happened. He created light?!  how radical!
/// Just A Thought \\\
He created light, why are we struggling with a situation not trusting Him to speak life into it?
The same God who spoke light into existence can speak light into your darkest moments and speak life into the deepest caverns of your heart. The earth was filled
Just like the Earth it has a beginning and an end; we all have a beginning and we all also have an ending.
“All flesh is like grass, that is here one day and gone the next. for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls,” 1 Peter 1:24

What Faith is: A Relationship of Trust

what faith is

Noah’s Faith: Part 2 of 7

11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. 13 And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. – Genesis 6:11-14

“all Noah knew was that God will judge the earth, and he was supposed to build a big barge. Since it had not rained yet on the earth, it is reasonable to suppose Noah didn’t know what God was meant yet”.

“But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.”

The judgment of God was announced and man failed to hear and to respond. Modern man either does not believe God exists or he believes that if He is such a nice guy that He would not be unkind enough to judge anybody or anything. This wishful thinking needs to be corrected by proper enunciation of who God really is and what He has already said and done in human history.

Even through God’s wrath we find his mercy, there was 120 days of the ark building that man could have responded to Noah’s preaching. There was room in the upper deck for those who God had anticipated their repentance but found none. God warns before he judges, He delays the promised wrath; His patience should never be abused; it should be cherished.

Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.”

When Noah took his big step of faith into the ark, “The Lord shut him in” suggesting that God was gently but firmly assuring Noah that he had done the right thing and that he was indeed secure. But Noah’s faith had already been in evidence for a considerable period while the ark was being constructed. And his faith had preserve during the year-long flood because strangely there is no record of God speaking to Noah during that period. He had to go on trusting through thick and thin, whether he could see and understand or not.

Faith: A Relationship of Trust

TRUST – A five letter word that marriages, relationships, friendships are made by and can be ruined by. It’s the character of that person that either can be trusted or not be trusted. We have all been there in every circumstance of trusting an individual, a friend, a parent or anyone that we know for sure to carry out what you have asked them to do. With being a minister, people trust me in too many area’s of my life to count! From friends and people I barely know telling me about personal situations that I would not even be willing to tell my best friend. It’s a reputation that I have; God has given me that special gift in my life to use it, not abuse it. I take that need, request, of that person and intercede in their situation. Trusting God that He will come through in His timing.

Noah trusted God. From the time that God called Noah to build the ark, Noah had asked no question’s to why He would have him do such a thing, or complain of how long it would take or that he needed more help to carry out this task.  Remember God saying “Make yourself”? This means this was Noah’s project. He was not to simply contract it out to
someone else.
