Multiple times in the bible, it tells us to cast our burden and our anxieties to the Lord. We are not designed nor created to live this life on our own and by our own ability. God promises this.
Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved.
All the problems, struggles, worries, anxieties, and burdens can all be cast down at His feet.
Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Those moments when we realize the yoke of anxiety, the yoke of worry, the yoke of struggle is getting to much, to heavy and we begin to look for relief, the only relief is to look to Christ who bore the heavy load for us once and for all.
~ We have a God knows our weaknesses ~
Hebrews 4:15-16
15” For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
God knows that this life will always have temptations and burdens, but the question is, are we drawing near to His throne to cast our burdens, our struggles, and our worries at His feet to receive that grace, that help in time of need?
We know the remedy is to give Him our burdens, but how do we exchange the yoke that we’re carrying right now?
1 Peter 5:6-7
6 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
It’s by humility, that we can sumbit it to God
“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” James 4:6
We recognize that we can’t do life on our own. But only by His authority, and acknowledging our dependence on Him.
Prayer:
Father, I give you the burden of ______________, and I humbly give it to you in this time of need, knowing I cannot handle this on my own. Lord, you are the remedy and the answer to my burdens. I exchange this yoke of _____________ for your yoke which is light. In Jesus` name, Amen.
