Psalms 103:1-4

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

David knew the grace and deliverance of God many times. In these 4 verses we see a fundamental truth.

Let me start out by mentioning that when we choose to rejoice, when we choose to pray no matter what circumstance, God is going to show up in a powerful way.

Rejoice no matter what!

This is sometimes the hardest thing to do is when your in the middle of something is to get your praise on. But it is very essential to keep focus on Him as He directs your steps.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ” Rejoice always; pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

When you enter His presence with praise, He enters your circumstances with power.

You have the choice to give or withhold praise.

I see David’s heart in these scriptures it was like he was telling himself…

Self, I don’t care what you feel like right now,

I don’t care what trials I’ve been through this week,

I don’t care what the situation I’m in right now.

I don’t care what others might think or say about me…

As long as I’ve got breath in these lungs, I’m going to bless the Lord, and all that is within me, I’m going to bless His holy name!

We are told in Hebrews 13:15 “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.

When we live a life fully surrendered to Him, I believe what may come will not be a total surprise to us. We know we are in His hands and everything is in control.

Psalms 107:1-2

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, in whom He has delivered from the hand of the enemy.”

Forget not His benefits

We bless Him because:

He’s good

He’s forgiving

He’s freed us

He’s healed us

He’s with us

He’s for us
