38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching.
40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”
41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42
Just one more task then I will b through; Are the thoughts of Martha as Jesus steps into the house while Martha is in preparation of the food for her guests. ” Tell Mary to come and help me” as Martha urged for Him to take action. She was missing the point of His visitation. We can be taken away from tasks and tasks will be taken away from us when we leave this Earth. Preparation is vital but when He comes, will we still be preparing or will we be like Mary who is ready at His calling?
God has not blessed us with our families, friends, jobs, abilities and other gifts to give us an excuse to abandon a close walk with Him. Without Him we can do nothing.
