3 Keys to Living the Right life, Pt.3

Key #3 to living the right life: We can live a life and live it wrong or live it right.

# 1 THE RIGHT ATMOSPHERE

# 2 THE RIGHT ENERGY SOURCE

# 3 THE RIGHT INFORMATION

The enemy’s tactic is to derail you, distract you, and detour you from the… Right information, the Word of God.

Why is that? Because the Word is Truth, God tells us who we are in Him. And when we grasp the fact that we have freedom in Christ, “to whom the Son sets free, is free indeed,” When we begin to walk that out, it becomes a threat to the enemy’s kingdom. He will do anything to stop it.

JUDGES 6 — A STORY ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL WHO WERE NOT TAKING IN THE RIGHT INFORMATION.

RESULT: GOD HANDED THEM OVER TO THE MIDIANITES and Amalekites FOR 7 YEARS.

For whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. They would encamp against them and devour the produce of the land, as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel and no sheep or ox or donkey. For they would come up with their livestock and their tents; they would come like locusts in number—both they and their camels could not be counted—so that they laid waste the land as they came in.”

  1. To have the Right Information: We must obey His Word

v. 1 “The people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.”

We have an enemy who will take away the Word if we allow him to.

This story about the enemy coming in and destroying the crops symbolizes what Jesus spoke about in Matthew, Mark, and Luke about the parable of the Sower and the Seed.

The seed represents the Word of God, while the soil symbolizes different heart conditions.

The Path (Hard Ground): Hear the Word, but does not understand it, allowing the enemy to take it away immediately.

Rocky Ground (Shallow Soil): Those who receive the Word with joy but have no roots, causing them to fall away during difficult times.

Thorns: Hear the Word, but the cares of this World and the deceitfulness of riches choke it out.

Good Ground: Those who hear, understand, producing a fruitful, lasting harvest by obeying the Word of God.

  1. To have the Right Information: How does one take heed of the Word? We must hide the Word

v. 11 “Now the angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites.”

Gideon was able to find this wheat that had not been destroyed and was hiding it.

Psalms 119:11 “I have hidden your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

This Psalmist knew the value of taking God’s word and hiding it. One of the benefits of hiding His Word is no.3

  1. To have the Right Information: We must know who He says we are.

— IT’S WHAT HE SAYS WHO WE ARE IS WHAT MATTERS.

12 “And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, ‘The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor.”

What was God doing?

GOD WAS PUTTING THE RIGHT INFORMATION IN HIM. SO GIDEON WOULD SEE HIMSELF AS GOD SEES HIM!

There’s enough information in the world to tell us who we are not.

We need to hear who God says we are!

GOD DOESN’T CALL YOU LIKE YOU WERE,  HE CALLS YOU WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO BE.

HE HAS CALLED US INTO FREEDOM

HE HAS CALLED US VICTORIOUS

HE HAS CALLED US TO BE COURAGEOUS

GIDEON DIDN’T FEEL LIKE A MIGHTY MAN OF VALOR.

GIDEON SEEN A WORLD OF FEAR, HOPELESSNESS, and DEFEAT

BUT GOD WAS seeing someone that He could use to defeat the enemy. Not by human strength, not by will power, not by Gideon’s intellect. But by believing the right information, the Word of God.

GIDEON WENT ON AND DEFEATED THE ARMIES WITH ONLY 300 MEN.

What is stopping you from becoming who God has called you to be? Believe the Word and forget about what others tell you who you are, if you are in Christ, “Old things have passed away, behold, new things have come.”

If you don’t know the Lord as your savior, I urge you to commit your life to Him today!
