His Love Chose Us

1 John 4:7-12

“ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.”

God is Love. He is the author of love, and who does He love? His creation. He loved us enough to have sent His only Son. Think about that for a moment. God knew that not every would love Him, but He gave the invitation.

Love is an invitation, It is not a feeling. Love is a choice. And thank God that He chose to come to this broken world, to walk with His broken creation
hoping that “…whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

  • We have gave Him so many reasons not to love us, but none of them had changed His mind.

Why is that? God’s love is…

  • Unconditional
  • Everlasting
  • Forgiving
  • Gracious
  • Infinite
  • Holy
  • Sovereign
  • Fierce

His love cannot be bought
His love cannot be sold
His love cannot be earned
His love has no limits or barriers

While the worlds view of love is about a feeling, The Biblical view of love is about a choice. A choice to love Him, because without loving Him, how can we love each other?

Everyday we have the choice to love the One whom first loved us. A love that was given to us at the price of His blood. This is the love of God. And the best part of it, if you are a child of God, is that His love will never leave you nor forsake you. His love isn’t going to leave us. There is no reason or circumstance for Him to stop loving us. His love never fails. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

ROMANS 8:38,39  “38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If you haven’t experienced God’s love, you are missing out. He is for you and He is inviting you to experience the life that He has for you. But it is only through Jesus.

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you that you loved us so much that you gave us your only Son at such a high cost to redeem your creation back to You. Help me to love others as you loved me. Stir in my heart a desire to seek Your face each day to grow in your love.
