Each of us here had a story of pain at one time or another. A time of hopelessness, despair, and most of all a debt that we could never owe.
Calvary is the story of law colliding with grace, it’s the story of you and I not getting what we deserved – death. It’s the story of hope emerging from the darkness, it’s the story of our mistakes and his mercy, our debts and his ransom, our separation, and his victory. But calvary covers it all.
Why did Jesus choose the Cross?
He chose the cross Because He knows your worth, He saw your future, He saw the story of sin and shame that you were living in.
God knew that without His only Son becoming the sacrificial lamb, there could be no reconciliation, there would be no hope for us. no peace, no joy, and no life for us.
ROMANS 5:8 “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners…
When you were in sin
When you were in a pit
When you were hopeless beyond recognition
When you were far away
“…Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified (right standing) by his blood.”
We need to remember, that He had to become unrecognizable for us to be recognized before the Father. He became alienated so we could be accepted.
And He was led as a lamb to the slaughter
Isaiah 53:7
“He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep, before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.”
Thank Him for Calvary, Thank Him that you’re now living a new story of life, the new story of hope, a new story of his power in your life.
