The Peace on God

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”

 Phil. 4:7

This “peace of God” which Paul is talking about is beyond our power of thinking. It “surpasses all understanding” meaning it is beyond our ability to understand and to explain, this peace of God must be experienced.

In the book of John, the fourteenth chapter, Jesus is comforting His disciples, He knows that’s He is about to give His life as the ultimate sacrifice and He assures them of a peace that the world cannot give.

Peace i leave with you; my peace i give to you, i do not give you as the world gives.” John 14:27

What must we understand about the peace of God?

  1. The peace of God is greater than the tribulations of this World
  2. Peace is not the absence of problems; it’s knowing you’re securely held in the hands of the father.

We read of many stories of situations that’s could’ve stolen the peace — of Jesus who slept during a storm, Paul and Silas who worshipped while being imprisoned, Peter and John who calmly testified before the Jewish religious leaders, but in all these situations & tribulations, they experienced a supernatural peace.

Your peace is what the enemy would love to steal. How does he do this? He does this by trying to have you focus more on the “what ifs” scenarios, fears and anxieties.

We have a promise in Isaiah 26:3

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Oh the peace we have when our minds are centered on Jesus, then we can experience a peace that’s is unexplainable even when life is trying its hardest to take us down, but we have a peace that only Jesus can give us.
