Decide to Abide – Part 2

What Jesus said in John 15:5 “For without Me you can do nothing.”

He was stating that in our own prideful, selfish, ambitious ways we will never be able to live a life that is acceptable, holy and a consecrated vessel without being a branch that receives the nutrients it needs in order to survive from the vine.

We can’t survive off the old ways of doing things.

  1. Put off the old self

Paul Reminds us:

Ephesians 4:22-24 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

How many knows:

-We died to the old self.

-we died to the habits and lifestyle of sin.

How is this possible not to go back to the old ways?

Galatians 2:20

  • We must crucify our flesh daily

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live,{but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

  • We died to the law when Jesus died on the cross. The old selfish desires, the old man is gone, no more of the old habits and old ways. We are a new creation…old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
  • When Christ is living in you all things are new!

how is all that possible to lay down your life and to live for Christ?

“The life I now live in the body, I live by the faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.”

We live by faith and not by sight.

We live according to His word and not this World.

We live according to His Promises

We live according by the Spirit

Without surrendering our passions our desires our Will to Him we will never live out the life He has for us without surrendering!

We have everything to gain and nothing to lose when we give our lives to Christ, have you surrendered to Jesus?

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
