Daily we have battles of thoughts of you’re not good enough, you’ll never see your healing, you’ll never get deliverance, you might as well give up! These thoughts are not of God but of Satan. So what do we do? how do we combat it? First, we must realize that these thoughts obviously start in the mind, that is where the battle is fought. But guess what, the battle is already won! Jesus Christ has defeated Death, Hell & the Grave and He gave us His Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword that when it is spoken demons tremble and flee!
We must realize
2 Corinthians 10:3-4
3 “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds” – ESV
- The mind is the battlefield!
Question: When you have that thought that is contrary to the Word of God, what are we to do? Are we being passive? Are you speaking the truth of the Word against it?
2 Corinthians 10:5
5 “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to obey Christ” – ESV
The Problem
The enemy knows that if we give into a thought, those arguments about ourselves and we don’t take it captive, then that thought, that argument we can begin to contemplate and it will become a stronghold.
Examples:
We begin to believe the lie that God doesn’t love us,
We begin to believe the lie that I’ve gone too far.
We can believe the lie that my disease, sickness is incurable.
We can believe the lie that the situation I’m in is only going to get worse.
We believe the lie that living for God isn’t worth it.
The Solution
You must see yourself as God sees you!
If Jesus Christ is Lord over your life then you are a new creation! You are not the same person before you gave your life to Him!
Remember
Why is it so important to cast down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God?
Romans 8:6
“For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace”
This is the very thing that the enemy did in Heaven, he wanted to be God, he wanted to take control, and the same goes for us when we start to have thoughts that are contrary to the Word of God, thoughts of ungodliness, of power, what is going to start happening?
James 1:15
“Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.”
We have a Promise!
Isaiah 26: 3
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
God will not leave you where you’re at keep trusting! Keep persevering!
