In Him: Chosen

Chosen, think about that for a moment. When I was a child growing up in school I was always hoping I would have been the first one picked on the school grounds during recess. But my stature and me not being the greatest when it comes to playing any kind of sport, I was usually the last one chosen.

I’m so glad God doesn’t look at our stature or our ability to perform in a certain area of our life in order for us to be Chosen. I don’t believe any of us would’ve been picked. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

“Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the World, that we should be holy and blameless before him. in love. – Ephesians 1:4

Chosen — At times our circumstances, our lives or our jobs can tell us that we are worthless, that we are insignificant. That no one would choose us. We feel like that devastating picture of the boy or girl in the playground last to be chosen to play on a team. But that is simply not what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that we are chosen in Him. When you were chosen? Before the creation of the world. Not after you fasted for 40 days, not after you proved to Him how good you are. But before you were formed, He chose you. Before you were formed, He loved you. Before anything existed, He had you on His mind. You are chosen! Meditate on this today. You are not rejected, you are not left behind, you are not striving to be good enough. Before you existed, He chose you, so there is nothing you can do to make yourself more ‘choose-able’. He loves you and you are chosen in Him! Eph. 1:4

There is a Plan for You

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

Romans 8:28-29 NKJV

Some of us from time to time we may think about our future. Maybe it’s a goal or a desire that you haven’t seen fulfilled yet and the thought keeps nagging you. It feels like at times you missed the opportunity or the setbacks put you off track. Maybe it was a relationship and things didn’t work out like you wanted it too.

When our future looks bleak and we ask, “What is my purpose in life? Why am I here? I just want out! Am I any good to anybody? It all looks so hopeless.” We are looking at our world system credentials, our world system status as a person, and for the encouragement that comes from the world.

It isn’t your responsibility to plan your future. That has been planned before your life began (remember He saw every day of your life before you were born). You are being conformed to His image. Every incident, every setback, every disappointment, every unexpected tragedy are to be used to further His purpose of conforming you to His likeness in your life and in my life.

It may seem that God’s plan are interrupted but hold fast to the promise that God is working behind the scenes. And to believe that all things work together for good for those those who love God.

GLORY TOOOOOO GLORY

GLORY TOOOOO GLORY

Why would a good and loving God allow us to go through such things?

  • death of a child
  • Diseases
  • Injuries
  • Financial hardships
  • Worry
  • Fear

There are seasons of our life where God has to put us under the microscope; leads us through the fire, begins to take us through some afflictions that we start asking questions of why?

So what are the reasoning’s behind all this?

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

What is Paul saying in those two verses?

That we all, even the just are going to face difficulties at times, those struggles/afflictions that you have, the pain of a lost loved one, the questions that you don’t understand now; we must walk by faith and not by what we see.

“that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose”

  • Romans 8:28

When we are being transformed from Glory to Glory

It’s in the “Toooo” that builds our faith, endurance, & character.

So how do you look at your current situation?

know that there is PURPOSE behind every affliction!

That God will not leave you!

Whenever we enter into His presence with praise, He enters our circumstance with power.
